Cosmetic Fillers

In our office we off a full line of cosmetic fillers including Juvéderm®, Restylane®, Radiesse®, Evolence®, and Sculptra®. Each has a therapeutic place and Dr. McCall can discuss them in detail with you during a facial rejuvenation consultation. Lines around the mouth, lips and cheeks are particularly well treated with fillers. The use of fillers is our preferred procedure for lip augmentaton. Fillers also have a role in the correction of hollow appearing cheeks.

Juvéderm® and Restylane®

Juvéderm®, our most frequently used filler, like Restylane®, is an FDA-Approved dermal (skin) filler made from Hyaluronic acid. When injected just below the surface of the skin, Juvéderm® adds volume to the skin, smoothing unwanted lines and wrinkles. Juvéderm® lasts 6-12 months. To learn more about the use of Juvéderm®, visit Juvederm.com.

Restylane® can smooth out wrinkles, enhance lips and sculpt facial contours. It is made of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance which contains no animal proteins. Enhancement using this product generally lasts for six months to nine months. Restylane® is FDA approved. To learn more about the use of Restylane®, visit www.restylaneusa.com.

Radiesse® is a long lasting filler which has been used in Europe for the last few years to treat wrinkles and scars. It has the advantage of being longer lasting. This product is FDA approved for cosmetic uses. To learn more about the use of Radiesse®, visit http://www.radiesseusa.com/.

Evolence® is our newest dermal filler. It is the first collagen based gel that does not require a skin test. Unlike collagen injections from the past which lasted only a few months, Evolence® lasts up to 12 months. Collagen is a fundamental part of youthful skin, which sadly depletes over time Now it can be replaced using long lasting injections. To learn more about Evolence®, visit www.evolence.com/us.

Natural Appearing Results

Dr. McCall and Dr. Bern have performed hundreds of cosmetic filler injections. They takes great pride listening carefully to patient’s concerns and in producing natural appearing results. By offering a variety of cosmetic fillers, injections can be individually tailored to the patient. The entire injection process usually requires less than 30 minutes and is generally performed using a topical anesthetic gel or a local anesthetic block.

Sculptra® is FDA approved in use for the treatment of facial lipoatrophy, or the loss of fat beneath the skin, which can result in sunken cheeks, indentations, and hollow eyes. Treatments with this safe, biocompatible material actually thicken the skin and work well in treating folds and hollow, sunken areas of the mid and lower face. Treatment results occur gradually and generally require 2 – 4 treatment sessions. Originally, Sculptra® gained FDA approval in the US for patients who develop facial lipoatrophy associated with human immunodeficiency viral infections.
