Cosmetic FillersIn our office we offer a full line of cosmetic fillers including Juvederm, Restylane, Sculptra and Radiesse. Each has a therapeutic place and Dr. McCall can discuss them in detail with you during a facial rejuvenation consultation. Lines around the mouth, lips and cheeks are particularly well treated with fillers. The use of fillers are our preferred procedure for lip augmentaton. Fillers also have a role in the correction of hollow appearing cheeks. RestylaneRestylane, our most frequently used filler, can smooth out wrinkles, enhance lips and sculpt facial contours. It is made of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance which contains no animal proteins. Although available in the US only since January of 2004, Restylane has been used for many years in Europe and has an excellent safety record. SculptraSculptra is used for the treatment of facial lipoatrophy, or the loss of fat beneath the skin, which can result in sunken cheeks, indentations, and hollow eyes. Treatments with this safe, biocompatible material actually thicken the skin and work well in treating folds and hollow, sunken areas of the mid and lower face. Treatment results occur gradually and generally require 2 - 4 treatment sessions. In the US, it is FDA approved for patients who develop facial lipoatrophy associated with human immunodeficiency viral infections. RadiesseRadiesse is a long lasting filler which has been used in Europe for the last few years to treat wrinkles and scars. It has the advantage of being longer lasting. JuvadermJuvaderm, like Restylane is an FDA- Approved dermal (skin) filler made from Hyaluronic. When injected just below the surface of the skin, Juvaderm adds volume to the skin, smoothing unwanted lines and wrinkles. Natural Appearing ResultsDr. McCall and Dr. Bern have performed hundreds of cosmetic filler injections. They takes great pride listening carefully to patient’s concerns and in producing natural appearing results.
