Facelift & Necklift
Facelift and necklift surgery, or rhytidectomy, restores a more youthful appearance by removing wrinkles and sagging skin.
This is achieved by removing excess fat, tightening underlying muscles, and redraping the skin of the face and neck. Its most dramatic rejuvenating effects are the reduction in sagging cheeks and jowls, and the repair of the so-called “turkey” neck. During a facelift consultation, Dr. Bern covers a number of important decisions related to the facelift procedure. Chief among these are whether the patient would benefit most from a mini-facelift, a neck liposuction alone, or a full-face and necklift. Placement of surgical scars is another important consideration. Some patients opt for rejuvenation of the eyelids, forehead, lips and skin at the same time as a facelift or necklift. We are happy to answer questions about the role of eyelid lifts and lip rejuvenation during your consultation.

Everyday facial movements coupled with the effects of aging lead to drooping of the brow and creasing of the forehead. Brow and Forehead Lifts elevate drooping eyebrows, reduce ridges and furrows on the forehead, and reduce hooding over the eyes, creating a smoother, more youthful appearance. This is accomplished by removing excess tissue, altering muscles, and tightening the forehead skin. Many patients have a forehead lift performed at the same time as facelift or eyelid surgeries. A detailed understanding of facial aesthetics is important in achieving a relaxed, rested and natural appearance.
